Résumé : We have witnessed recently major progress in the legislation in favor of the rights of the patients and in support of a clinical investigation that would be more respectful of these rights. Nonetheless, the compassionate attitude between the physician and the patient remains the corner stone of the patient-physician relationship. Its quality requires a better awareness of the importance of such a relationship by the physicians and necessitates a specialised and continous education.
