Résumé : Lagrange bases provide a variational foundation to recently proposed grid methods. Lagrange functions are indefinitely derivable orthonormal functions which vanish at all mesh points but one. These natural interpolation functions are exactly known in closed form for the Fourier and generalized Fourier grids. Approximate but accurate Lagrange functions are introduced for the Riccati-Bessel grid. © 1994 1OP Publishing Ltd.
