Résumé : The generator-coordinate method and the microscopic R-matrix formalism are applied to the description of nucleus-nucleus bremsstrahlung with antisymmetric wave functions. Formulae are established for the cross sections in the centre-of-mass system and for coplanar geometries in the laboratory system. The long-wavelength approximation and Siegert theorem are not used asymptotically to ensure convergence of the matrix elements. The formalism is applied to α + α bremsstrahlung. Good agreement is found with the existing experimental data obtained in the Harvard geometry. A comparison with the microscopic results shows that the validity of the external bremsstrahlung approximation is restricted to 90° c.m. scattering as in the Harvard geometry and to small photon energies. The radiative-capture cross section towards the unstable 8Be ground state is also calculated. © 1985.
