Résumé : The onset of homogeneous oscillations in the spatially extended systems were analyzed. A one-dimensional reation-diffusion system undergoing Hopf bifurcation was investigated using the master equation. The results showed that local fluctuations wiped out the homogeneous oscillations with increase in the system size even though latter was asymptotically stable. The nonlocal noise terms arising from mass diffusion were found to be negligible in the vicinity of the bifurcation point.
