Résumé : The formulation of gravity and M-theories as very-extended Kac-Moody invariant theories is reviewed. Exact solutions describing intersecting extremal brane configurations smeared in all directions but one are presented. The intersection rules characterising these solutions are neatly encoded in the algebra. The existence of dualities for all G +++ and their group theoretical-origin are discussed. © 2006 American Institute of Physics.
