Résumé : The article studies a propensity in Belgian francophone literature observable since the 19th century to associate image with text. The chosen angle is that of spatialization of poetic texts. Through examining the graphic and/or typographic experiments of poets like Elskamp, de Boschère or Nougé, or the investigations of Dotremont and Broodthaers, it aims to show that, notwithstanding the variety of forms and methods, an outstanding continuity - connected to joint treatment of text and image - is at work in Belgian francophone poetry.
