Résumé : Arrhenius parameters have been determined for the protolysis of a series of trimethylarylsilanes: trimethylphenylsilane, trimethyl‐p‐tolylsilane, trimethyl‐p‐anisylsilane, trimethyl‐1‐naphtylsilane, trimethyl‐2‐naphtylsilane, trimethyl‐9‐phenanthrysilane and trimethyl‐3‐pyrenylsilane. The existence of a linear relationship between the logarithms of the rate constants and the σ+ substituent constants has been established. A correlation between the rate constants of the polycyclic derivatives and the theoretical parameters has been found. Trimethyl‐3‐pyrenylsilane shows an apparently abnormally high rate constant.
