Résumé : This interest will consider very closely the present possibilities offered by new therapies an recent methods in order to give our over-aged group the achievement and the benefit of the afore mentioned therapeutic methods. The estimated surgical risk varies from one practitioner to another. The mortality can be reduced by paying close attention to the physical characteristics of that age, to preop preparation, to the type of surgery indicated as well as to the quality of post operative intensive care. The author reviews the cardiovascular, pulmonar, neurologic, mental, kidney, endocrine, and gastro-intestinal insufficiencies.
