Résumé : Ampetu in the Eugubinian Tables: "to immolate"? - The present paper examines all the occurrences of the Umbrian lexeme ampentu, in order to elucidate its meaning. It also analyses the various methods that can be used for the study of the Iguvine rituals and their limits. In the case of ampentu, it is possible to hypothesise that the phase it designates is, at least as far as its structural position is concerned, comparable to the Latin immolatio.
