Résumé :

Open tibial fractures should initially be treated by reduction and stabilization of the bone. External fixation of the fragments is the method of choice. As soon as possible the fracture site should be covered with skin, with grafts if necessary. Later, skin coverage must be secured by local or distant flaps.
