Résumé : A noncontact proximity sensor built with plastic multimode fibers is presented. The sensor is based on the measurements of the intensity variations of the light scattered by a mobile rough object illuminated with several focused beams. The intensity maxima obtained when the object is at the focal points are used for rapid detection of its presence and orientation.
