Résumé : Low temperature internal friction peaks were observed at frequencies of about 1 Hz and 2. 4 Hz in several aluminium-magnesium alloys (1%, 5% and 13%) on samples aged at temperatures varying between 273 K and 303 K. The observed peaks were characterized for the three alloys by their instability and poor reproducibility from one test to the other for presumed identical microstructural states of the samples. More detailed studies of Al-Mg 13% alloy were made, where the preprecipitation (Guinier-Preston zones) occurring during the aging treatment led to variations of the elastic moduli.
