Résumé : Cure of adult renal cell cancer can only be obtained by surgery. However, nephrectomy has no effect upon distant metastases. Hormonotherapy is ineffective. Vinblastine is the only chemotherapeutic agent with a certain antitumoral activity. New immunotherapeutic agents such as interferon alpha or interleukin 2 are more promising but their side-effects are not negligible. Medical management of renal cell cancer remains investigational.
