Résumé :

The analysis of mortality data from cancer of the digestive tract in Belgium showed that cancer of the stomach and rectum are not evenly distributed throughout the country, in contrast with cancer of the oesophagus and of the intestine. There is an excess mortality from both gastric and rectal cancers in the Flemish part of the country when compared with the Walloon part; these differences cannot be explained by biases.
