Résumé : House dust allergens, especially those from the house dust mite, are well known to be associated with asthma and other allergic disorders. This paper describes recent evidence indicating that airborne endotoxins, derived from the outer cell membrane of Gram-negative bacteria, may in fact be responsible for modulating the severity of symptoms and lung function in asthma patients.
