Résumé : Two cases of osteogenic sarcoma of the mandible were treated by resection and immediate reconstruction with a metallic pin. The physiological and cosmetic consequences of partial or total resection of the mandible are shown. Immediate reconstruction with bone graft, prosthesis or stainless steel pin will preview scar retraction. It will also prevent deviation of the remaining maxillary fragments while maintaining satisfactory function. For oncologic surgery the authors prefer the pin which can be modified or adapted during the operation. In addition its small volume is more compatible with the requirements of extensive surgery.
