Résumé : Manpower recruitment policy practiced by the Brussels Erasmus Hospital is described. The hospital is a central 750 bed facility and in the last six years over 10000 persons were interviewed for jobs. The testing and selection protocols used are explained; no psychological test procedures are used and recruitment relies principally on documentation submitted including the curriculum vitae and a personal interview with the candidate. The author describes the context and development of such an interview and explains the evaluation procedures used by the recruiting staff. Reasons for refusing candidates are also explained as are positive discrimination aspects.
