Résumé : To make the best use of data processing for clinical research in digestive endoscopy, it seems to us that one must go through an individual phase in writing a program. Even if this program is not very advanced to begin with, it confronts the user with the demands but also the real possibilities of the computer. After this individual effort, the final aim is to return to a more universal use by continual process of users working together to choose a vocabulary which is specific and practical and which will not sterilize the data memorized. Working towards this perfection from an individual effort but relying on mutual exchange and openness towards others will make data processing an essentially human and social activity in which the individual is working for the fulfilment of the group.
