Résumé : Sixty double-lumen prostheses with methylprednisolone added in the outer lumen are reviewed with a minimum follow-up of 6 months. Capsular contracture around these prostheses has been very low (11.6%), but unfavorable side effects of cortisone were observed in 24 implants, ranging from mild skin thinning to severe atrophy with loss of the prosthesis. The treatment of the complications is discussed and the question is raised as to whether the administration of cortisone is of any benefit. © 1981 Springer-Verlag.
