Résumé : The authors examine the associated psychiatric diagnoses of 100 consecutive patients with conversion symptoms without organic disease. More than 80% of the subjects present a coexisting psychiatric disorder. The most frequent are affective disorder, personality disorder, other 'neurotic' disorder and substance abuse. The authors conclude that conversion should be considered as a non-specific symptom.
