Résumé : The purpose of this work is to protect the using composite Ni-Co-ThO//2 (2 vol %) against high temperature oxidation, with chromium using a diffusion-type coating process. The samples were buried in a pack consisting of a powder blend of chromium (50 and 80 wt%), NH//4Cl(2 wt %) and, the balance, Al//2O//3. The NH//4Cl reaction with the chromium powder (forming the transfer agent CrCl//2 which is deposited on the surface of the material and is then reduced) was studied by thermogravimetry, X-ray diffraction, and by scanning electron microscopy.
