Résumé : Known amounts of adenine-8-14C and hypoxanthine-8-14C have been micro-injected into Amphibian gastrulae. Both precursors are quickly incorporated into ATP and nucleic acids, but only hypoxanthine can be converted into guanine to a large extent. It seems that free purines, especially hypoxanthine, are the natural précursors of the nucleic acids purines during early development. © 1955.
