Résumé : A room temperature model has been built to reproduce, at low temperature with viscous model fluids. flows and heat transfers similar to those taking place in fore-hearths, in the glass bottle making process. Temperature fields as well as 3-dimensional velocity fields were measured under different experimental conditions. The complexity of the flow in the outlet area of the channel was displayed; the importance of density gradients on the flow patterns was specially observed.
