Résumé : An adolescent looks to find his/her way into adulthood. During this time, this can cause disruption in family life and often means the family questions its deep-rooted beliefs and values and may either reaffirm some or adjust others. These new dynamics mean that the adolescent puts his/her mark on these family values and beliefs. In families where there has been a trauma and normal develop-ment has been stunted, family therapy can enable the adolescent to move on with his/her life within the family circle. © De Boeck Université.
