Résumé : The carriage of Staphylococcus aureus methicillin resistant is increasing in nursing homes. An adequate policy in order to struggle against this condition has been set up by the Public Health Institute and by the GDEPIH (Groupe pour le Dépistage, l'Etude et la Prévention des Infections dans les Hôpitaux). The primary and universally used precautions against the transmission of the MRSA are introduced and analyzed. Those are followed by secondary measures. The detection of MRSA carriers in nursing homes needs to be realized under particular conditions. The decolonization of the carriers is absolutely essential; a scheme of decolonization is therefore provided.
