Résumé : Fault location research in compensated network hasled to several ideas; from the classic use of the steady state to theuse of the charging transient. This paper explores a new way tolocate the fault in compensated network. The distributionnetworks have more and more loop structures which could bringsignificant information for the fault location. The proposedmethod uses the communications that can be brought by asmarter distribution network. Multiple measurements provide animplicit equation of the fault location. This equation reduces theuse of badly known parameters. Monte Carlo results arepresented to compare the method with single measurement pointand the methods with two measurement points. Overhead linesand cables are both studied with PI line model in this paper.Homogeneous line is first studied and a more complex model isanalyzed with heterogeneous line and its impact on the locationaccuracy.
