Résumé : The conditions for the onset of convection during protein crystallization from a solution were studied theoretically. Navier-Stokes equation was used to describe the flow velocity. The density of the solution was found to depend upon the concentration of protein and a precipitating agent. The mechanism of the reaction was described by means of boundary conditions for the interface.
