Résumé : Paul Ricoeur is a French philosopher of the twentieth century (1913-2005) whose thinking converging toward central thematic as the Ethics, Phenomenology and Critical Hermeneutic. He developed these issues in constant dialogue with the social sciences. This article is based on his book "La mémoire, l'Histoire, l'oubli" and focuses on the second part devoted to an epistemology of history. It follow the development proposed by the author under the prism of the concept of "Representance". This concept covers both the idea of metamorphosis (unfaithful transfiguration of reality) and dynamic operation (which tries to faithfully figurate the reality). In this way, we can emphasize that the concept of “representance” is the direct heir of the platonic idea of pharmakon (which does not resolve the question about the antinomian nature of the historiographic operation but that raises it as a fact).
